Brad's Rant

Well, we made it past our 2 year mark, and Bev & I had our 10 year anniversary last month as well. An inspiring quote we found on one of the cards sent to us, that I wish on everyone:

  • You’ve been an inspiration as you’ve met all life’s demands,
  • You’ve weathered ups and downs and came out smiling, holding hands,
  • You’ve earned true admiration for the happy years you’ve spent,
  • For on that day you said “I do”, you’ve shown that’s what you meant!

What about the anniversary of your vehicle? You should remember other anniversaries first, but have you ever stopped to think what did you expect when you bought your rig? Do you expect it to take you anywhere you want it to? Do you begrudge how you have to look after it? While I agree not all vehicles are created equal, most are worth looking after.

Your vehicle has a plan laid out to make it last, actually there are 2 plans, one the manufacturer wants you to follow to make it past warranty reasonably well, and another if you want to make it into the 300,000Km Club.

Preventative maintenance is very necessary, and most service centers overlook giving you the information you need to make wise decisions on how to make your vehicle last.

Read your owners manual to find out which is the one you should be using. We can help if it seems too much, that is what we are here for. Give me a call.

As you wrap up your RRSP decisions, I bet you never thought of maximizing the return on your vehicle investment! It doesn’t pay any monetary returns, but if neglected, it will stand there like a banker recalling your loan. A quote from Car Care Canada:

In domino fashion, failing to plan for maintenance can turn small problems into larger ones, putting a serious dent in your automotive budget. The penalties of procrastinating on vehicle maintenance range from a heater that runs cold to a battery that won't start the car. Take care of your car's seasonal services immediately and make plans to get ahead of the game next year. An early visit to your repair facility provides the opportunity to budget for unanticipated repairs.

Our commitment to our clients as it states in our mission statement:

#2. Perform Inspections for safety & maintenance every time on every vehicle.

This is why you get the report and recommendations when you come to our place. Now you have the knowledge to make informed decisions about your budget, your car and its anniversary.

PS –We all would rather buy a vehicle we know has been very well maintained, why not take care of the one you own? You don’t even have to buy it!
